I love everything about fall—like when the leaves start turn, the air becomes nice and crispy, and when you get to pull out all of the warm cardigans and booties. But the chances of that happening anytime soon in Southern California are pretty slim. We feel cold temperatures in the early morning at school drop off, and then it heats up in the afternoon. So you bet I throw on a cardigan or sweatshirt for that brief moment. This time of year I start to hunt for my fall wardrobe staples and they’re the pieces I will rotate through weekly! Here are some things that I have already purchased and a few I have my eyes on.
Carly Jean Los Angeles Topanga Jeans
I’m totally late to the party on this brand that is local here in Southern California. I’ve heard of them before but never bought anything until recently and it seems pretty apparent that y’all love them too! They have simple, good quality, and go with everything in your closet kind of style pieces. I love being able to feel comfy and cute all wrapped in one outfit!
These jeans I just bought have no stretch so I sized up, I’m normally a size 4 and got a size 7. They are a little big on me but I like this casual look and they go with everything from a t-shirt to a cute flowy top.

Billabong Switchback Faux Fur Pullover
The colors on this pullover scream fall. With early morning soccer games this pullover was a must-have. Plus, my son Ethan just joined a surf team so we’ll be going to the beach early in the morning to see him shred. I just got this piece in the mail and it’s super cozy. I sized up, since I wanted it to fit roomy and big. I’m normally a size small and I went up to a medium. It’s exactly the fit I was going for and I’m for sure wearing this all autumn and winter!

Target Woven Toe Ring Slide Sandals
Since I live in Southern California I wear sandals almost all year round. So some of you might think its funny that I included a pair of sandals, but I know lots of you will understand. These sandals have been my go-to since summer and I’m thinking I may get another pair.
I just checked and the BEST part is that they’re on sale right now at Target for $16.99. I’m telling you even if you live in a cold spot you should grab them and keep them in your closet till next summer. Not only are they super comfortable but they go with everything from jeans to dresses!

Carly Jean Los Angeles Franklin Sweater
I just received a fun package in the mail and I have to admit this sweater impressed me more than I thought it would in person. It’s a sweater and I envisioned a lighter material but I’m totally loving it. The cut is my favorite part, it’s very flattering on all body types. It’s thicker and super warm, plus it has big sleeves! It comes in another warm pumpkin spice color but I decided to go more traditional. So fun and a great piece to add to your fall wardrobe.

Target Maria Sneakers
I love a good sneaker for the everyday running around! I have a pair of Target sneakers that are so comfortable and for the price you can not beat. I went to try to find them for this post and they don’t have them anymore. But, of course I found a pair that I feel like I need. This style is everywhere right now and they’re under $30.

Madewell Pleat Sleeve Sweatshirt
I wear sweatshirts all throughout the fall and winter seasons. Here in Ventura we get cooler weather but nothing too extreme so a good sweatshirt is perfect to have on hand. Plus, if it warms up it’s easy to pull off! I love the style and fit of this sweatshirt and think it would be perfect with jeans and a pair of simple tennis shoes.

Free People With Love Denim Top
Omg I have wanted this top for awhile! I saw Lizzie from the @thefoodnanny wear it a few weeks back and I jumped over to the Free Peoples site to grab it. It was gone so fast and I was so bummed. It’s such a fun style for a denim top. I feel like this will go with everything in my fall wardrobe. Throw it on with jeans and booties or leggings and sneakers! Just saw they restocked it—yikes I better act fast and grab it!
